Coves, grazes, and a few objects that earn their place. Lighting is drawn with the ceiling, not added after the paint.

Layered lighting for living, cooking, and rest. Architectural coves and concealed lines are drawn with the ceiling; decorative pieces are used sparingly.

A graze on stone, a slot in a bedroom wall, a ring of light over a kitchen island — each is a line in the drawing. We avoid a wash that flattens the room.

The result is a house that can be dimmed to a diagram: plane, cut, light.
